About Peraton
Peraton is hiring a Cobol Software Developer for a remote role supporting our CMS program within the Health, State and Local Sector. You will join us in maintaining the Medicare Fee For Service claims processing system as a principal technical contributor on an Agile team.
The Role
You will plan, direct, and coordinate software development across multiple functional areas of the DME contract. This role requires independent judgement, acting as a technical authority within the team while providing leadership to developers at all levels.
- Design, develop, and enhance core software programs adhering to strict coding standards.
- Create unit test plans, execute test cases, and resolve defects in internal testing regions.
- Serve as a mentor and technical resource for team growth.
You'll Do
Designs, codes, unit tests, and debugs complex enhancements to the Medicare health claims processing system. Leads technical design sessions, applies deep mainframe development expertise (COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM), and consults with cross-functional organizations.
