Cloud Engineer

Core Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure Development and Management: Architect, construct, and deploy scalable cloud infrastructures on leading platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. This includes the setup and maintenance of virtual machines, containerized applications, and serverless computing environments. You will be responsible for configuring and managing essential networking components such as Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, security groups, and load balancers. Furthermore, the role involves implementing and managing diverse storage solutions, including object storage, block storage, and file storage, as well as deploying and overseeing both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud Security Implementation: Uphold and enhance security best practices across all cloud environments. This entails configuring and managing robust security groups, network access control lists (ACLs), and other critical security measures. A key aspect will be implementing and managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies to ensure secure access. You will also be tasked with actively monitoring for and responding to security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Cloud Automation and Orchestration: Drive efficiency by automating cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using powerful tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Develop and maintain scripts to streamline routine operational tasks. A significant part of this role will involve implementing and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to facilitate efficient software delivery.
• Troubleshooting and Performance Optimization: Proactively diagnose and resolve complex cloud-related issues. Provide essential technical support to internal teams and end-users, ensuring minimal disruption. Continuously monitor cloud performance metrics and optimize resource utilization for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration with development teams to guarantee seamless deployment and optimal operation of cloud-native applications. Work closely with other IT teams to uphold the overall stability, security, and performance of the cloud infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field is required.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in cloud computing environments, specifically with AWS or Azure. Proven experience in cloud infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and ongoing management. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Demonstrable experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools including Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is considered a significant advantage.
• Technical Proficiencies: A solid understanding of core cloud computing principles, architectures, and best practices. Demonstrated proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure). Strong knowledge of networking protocols and fundamental concepts. Experience implementing and enforcing security best practices within cloud environments. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for cloud infrastructure.
• Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical troubleshooting capabilities. The ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a collaborative team.
