Full Job Description
Join Pegasystems' Pega Cloud team as a Cloud Development Engineer, focusing on Control Plane Services. Our Control Plane Services Team is responsible for the foundational technologies that power Pega Cloud's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product. This is a key role within a rapidly expanding business, contributing to the development and enhancement of our core control plane framework. This framework provides critical services for packaging, releasing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting our platform and cloud services. You will work with subject matter experts and contribute across a variety of technologies, vendors, architectures, and implementation phases.
What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and operate highly available, scalable cloud-native systems using Java, Golang, and AWS cloud services.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to design and document new Pega Cloud features.
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and API tests.
- Utilize DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for automated service operations.
- Support our operations team with advanced operational tasks throughout the service lifecycle.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) with 2 to 4 years of professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java, particularly in microservices development. GoLang experience is a plus.
- Ability to design microservices-based architectures using cloud-native design patterns and serverless frameworks, emphasizing scalability and high availability.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with cloud technologies, equivalent to AWS Associate Architect certification (or similar for Google Cloud or Azure).
- Good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Helm, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes; CKAD certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with networking concepts is beneficial.
What You've Accomplished:
- 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of Java, ideally in microservices. GoLang experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to design microservices-based architectures leveraging cloud-native design patterns and serverless frameworks, with an emphasis on scalability and high availability.
- Very good understanding and experience in cloud technologies (AWS Associate Architect level or equivalent).
- Good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Helm/Terraform/Cloudformation).
- Very good knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (CKAD certification is a plus).
- Knowledge of networking is a plus.
