Cloud Architect

NTT DATA North America, a premier provider of business and technology services in the United States, is actively seeking a skilled Cloud Architect. This role is pivotal in supporting client cloud instances, ensuring exceptional high availability, and implementing robust security best practices across diverse cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in managing customer self-provisioned cloud environments with stringent security guardrails and efficient backend deployment. Responsibilities encompass proactive monitoring, swift incident resolution, performance tuning, and maintaining the reliability of production and staging environments. Key duties include establishing and managing monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions, leading root cause analyses, and preparing comprehensive post-mortem documentation. The role also involves executing critical maintenance tasks such as patch management and upgrades, developing and maintaining sophisticated backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies. Participation in on-call rotations and after-hours support is expected. A strong emphasis is placed on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, coupled with scripting expertise in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for task automation. Championing configuration management tools and contributing to DevOps pipeline integrations are also core aspects. The architect will recommend and implement cost optimization, resource utilization, and rightsizing strategies, ensuring strict adherence to security best practices like least-privilege access, encryption, and secure network configurations. Managing identity and access management (IAM) policies, monitoring and remediating security vulnerabilities, and supporting compliance efforts for regulatory requirements (e.g., TxRAMP, ISO, SOC2) are essential. Collaboration with application, security, and network teams is crucial for seamless solution delivery and ongoing support. The role includes mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance, as well as creating and maintaining essential technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. Client interaction to provide technical input will also be a part of the responsibilities.
