Mindrift is seeking skilled Civil Engineers with Python expertise for project-based AI training opportunities with leading technology companies. This role focuses on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. Please note that this is project-based work, not permanent employment.
What This Opportunity Involves
Contributors will be involved in designing and creating computational engineering problems that simulate real-world engineering workflows. This includes developing problems requiring Python programming to solve complex engineering calculations and simulations, ensuring they are computationally intensive and necessitate numerical methods or iterative solutions. Projects may also encompass system design, optimization, and analysis, drawing from real research challenges and practical engineering applications. Responsibilities include verifying solutions using Python with standard engineering libraries and clearly documenting problem statements with verified correct answers.
What We Look For
This opportunity is ideal for experienced engineers proficient in Python, open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideal candidates will possess:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Equivalent experience with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, or Stata is also considered.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching experience.
- A strong understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations.
- Excellent written English communication skills (C1+ proficiency required).

On this project, contributors can earn up to the equivalent of $9 per hour, based on their level and pace of contribution. Compensation varies across projects depending on scope, complexity, and required expertise. Other projects on the Mindrift platform may offer different earning levels.
