Camera ISP (Algorithm) Systems Engineer, Senior

Qualcomm is seeking a Senior Camera ISP (Algorithm) Systems Engineer to join the multimedia systems team in Bengaluru/Bangalore, India. This role focuses on creating embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets, utilizing hardware, multi-core processors, DSP, and GPU cores to deliver state-of-the-art photographic and video capabilities for mobile, IoT, and AR/VR platforms. The team innovates to bring higher performance and quality to these platforms, including advanced features for mixed reality, AI-powered camera/video, and image understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop next-generation camera features and image quality improvements for Mixed-reality platforms and AI-camera/video capabilities on mobile devices and smart glasses.
- Prototype solutions on mobile/XR platforms for proof of concept and demonstration.
- Develop and/or optimize image processing and computer vision algorithms for hardware acceleration.
- Design camera systems that balance power, memory, and silicon area to maximize imaging performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 2+ years of experience, OR PhD degree.
- Background in digital signal and image processing, and image quality tuning.
- Experience with CMOS sensors and algorithms for sensor and optics processing.
- Familiarity with multi-camera system design, including temporal synchronization, image fusion, depth estimation, or dual-camera calibration.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Matlab, and Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in signal/image processing and/or computer vision.
- Experience with XR-related imaging/perception problems or automotive perception is a plus.
- Working knowledge and experience with modern machine learning techniques.
- Academic publications in image processing & computer vision research at top conferences and journals are advantageous.
