Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Camera ISP (Algorithm) Systems Engineer to join our Engineering Group, focusing on Systems Engineering. As an innovation leader in integrated chipsets, we are expanding our reputation for wireless technologies and advanced multimedia capabilities. This role is an opportunity to join the multimedia systems team in Bengaluru/Bangalore, India, and contribute to the next generation of mobile, IoT, and AR/VR platforms.
The Camera Systems team is responsible for creating sophisticated embedded imaging solutions for Snapdragon chipsets. We leverage dedicated hardware, multi-core processors, DSP, and GPU cores to achieve state-of-the-art image and video quality. This includes enhancing photography, video recording, and enabling photo-realistic video see-through for immersive mixed reality, as well as providing scene data for image understanding and object detection.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and development for next-generation camera features and image quality improvements, particularly for Mixed-Reality platforms and AI-camera/video capabilities on mobile devices and smart glasses.
- Prototype solutions on mobile/XR platforms to demonstrate proof of concept.
- Develop and/or optimize image processing and computer vision algorithms for hardware acceleration.
- Design camera systems that achieve optimal imaging performance by balancing power consumption, memory usage, and silicon area.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience; or a PhD.
- Solid background in digital signal and image processing, along with image quality tuning.
- Familiarity with CMOS sensors and algorithms for sensor and optics processing.
- Understanding of multi-camera system design, including at least one of the following: temporal synchronization, image fusion, depth estimation, or dual-camera calibration.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Matlab, and Python.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 2 years of professional experience in signal/image processing and/or computer vision.
- Experience with XR-related imaging/perception challenges and/or automotive perception is advantageous.
- Working knowledge and practical experience with modern machine learning techniques.
- A track record of academic publications in image processing and computer vision research at leading conferences and journals.
Educational Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical & Computer Engineering.
- Preferred: Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical & Computer Engineering.
