Camera Firmware Engineer

Join Qualcomm India Private Limited as a Camera Firmware Engineer in our Engineering Group, focusing on Systems Engineering. This role is crucial for developing and productizing advanced Sensing Camera Firmware on Qualcomm chipsets for mobile, XR, and automotive projects. You will be responsible for developing embedded firmware for ISP hardware across various tiers of Qualcomm camera solutions, utilizing C/C++ on DSP processors and requiring a deep understanding of processor architecture, RTOS, peripherals, and toolchains. The position involves prototyping end-to-end use cases with firmware test benches for early verification, collaborating closely with systems, software, and hardware teams throughout the chipset lifecycle (design, bring-up, validation, commercialization), and interacting with customer engineering teams to support global OEMs and stabilize existing solutions.

We are seeking candidates with relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Design and implementation of embedded firmware for embedded processors/microcontrollers.
• Strong understanding of image processing or computer vision fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with camera/video/computer vision hardware pipelines, including firmware development and optimization for performance, power consumption, and memory usage.
• Proficient C/C++ programming skills, with experience in multithreading and RTOS/OS concepts.
• Experience in device driver development and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Q6 processors is a plus.
• Exceptional debugging skills for complex system-level issues.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design, implementation, and bring-up of new hardware, and to debug camera/multimedia/firmware integration issues and features for mobile/XR/IOT use cases.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

This position requires 1-3 years of relevant industry experience. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
