Business Intelligence Engineer

About the Role

Join our dynamic Alexa Connections team as a Business Intelligence Engineer and be at the forefront of Agentic AI innovation. You will lead initiatives that redefine the future of communication, working at the intersection of disruptive AI technologies and real-world impact. Collaborate with a team of passionate professionals to push the boundaries of what's possible with Alexa+.

In this role, you will drive the development of scalable, real-time metrics reporting and analysis tools for next-generation communication features powered by advanced AI, including Generative, Agentic, and Real-time AI. You will work closely with product management, engineering, design, and data science teams to design and deliver innovative solutions that enable seamless, intelligent communication experiences. You'll also lead the integration of these advanced data systems into Alexa's core capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define data elements to enable analytical and reporting capabilities, collaborating with other business intelligence teams.
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of data models supporting metrics, reports, and analyses for key business decisions.
• Utilize qualitative and quantitative analysis expertise to deliver actionable insights.
• Develop dashboards using business intelligence and visualization software (e.g., Quicksight, Tableau) for senior leadership and health teams.
• Drive data democratization, enabling others to self-serve their data needs through self-serve reporting and ad-hoc support.
• Develop a deep understanding of vast data sources to solve specific business problems.
• Design and influence operational best practices for reporting and analytics to support team scalability.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, and other stakeholders to support new analytics requirements.
• Manage numerous requests concurrently and strategically, prioritizing when necessary.
• Partner and collaborate across teams and roles to deliver results.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Quicksight, or similar.
• Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab.
• Experience using SQL to extract data from databases or data warehouses, and scripting experience (Python) for data processing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS solutions including EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
• Experience in data mining, ETL, and working with databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
