Full Job Description
We are seeking a Business Development Manager for our operations in Ahmedabad, India. This role is responsible for driving the adoption of bluesign services within the Indian textile industry.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell bluesign services to textile manufacturing mills, brands, and chemical suppliers across India.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients in India.
- Assist customers in integrating the bluesign® system into their operations, marketing strategies, and supply chains.
- Collaborate with SGS India on the successful execution of bluesign events.
- Attend key textile industry trade shows to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Contribute to cross-country and cross-region customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives.
- Ensure the achievement of country-specific objectives aligned with mid-range plans and annual budgets.
- Provide support for local CRM activities, including cross-region collaboration.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Establish and grow the bluesign system and its services in the Indian market in partnership with the bluesign organization.
- Conduct on-site visits to potential clients and engage in networking at trade shows.
- Secure bluesign system partnerships with manufacturers, brands, and chemical companies.
- Promote and sell the IMPACT service to brands and manufacturers.
- Promote and sell the DATA service to brands and manufacturers.
- Manage the entire customer acquisition process.
- Acquire new customers and nurture leads.
- Support and coordinate customer-related activities effectively.
- Ensure timely payments and maintain up-to-date customer data.
- Provide training to customer personnel in collaboration with bluesign services.
- Deliver impactful presentations, participate in industry fairs, and engage in networking activities.
- Provide regular feedback on sales activities and market developments, including competitor analysis.
- Support the Technical Service team during assessment preparations, on-site visits, and the implementation of the bluesign® system.
- Assist with travel planning for the regional director and arrange meetings with current and potential customers during visits to India.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a dynamic individual with at least 5 years of proven experience within the Indian textile manufacturing chain and a strong sales background, or a strong desire to transition into a sales career.
Essential Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of the textile supply chain, including brand experience, and a background as a Textile Chemical or Textile Engineer with knowledge of environmental key performance indicators.
- Extensive network of contacts within the local textile industry and relevant organizations/associations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a talent for networking.
- Proven sales experience and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
- Knowledge of textile chemistry, textile processing, supply chain management, and the brand landscape.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with EU regulations and global regulations pertaining to the textile industry.
- Prior sales experience.
