Key responsibilities include buying general and specialized materials, meticulously monitoring stock levels to achieve 100% material availability while minimizing excess inventory, and interviewing suppliers to secure competitive pricing, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements. You will also establish, monitor, and expedite delivery schedules, maintain comprehensive purchasing databases, vendor files, price lists, and inventory records, and proactively address shortages, resolve supplier issues, and verify that incoming materials meet stringent quality standards.
