Billing Associate

Personalis, Inc. is a leader in transforming the active management of cancer through groundbreaking personalized testing. As a Billing Associate in Fremont, CA, you will be integral to optimizing our revenue cycle. Your responsibilities will include managing the critical order intake and claim submission processes, ensuring maximum reimbursement for our proprietary Next Personal DX test.

This role involves supporting the claims and order entry processes, ensuring all necessary billing data is available for accurate order entry. You will determine the coverage status of test orders by meticulously reviewing clinical criteria and obtaining essential medical records and other missing information. A key aspect of this position is assigning the correct test codes based on payer and clinical criteria, and efficiently transferring insurance claims and billing data to our billing software, such as XIFIN.

You will be responsible for resolving claim and frontend billing errors, managing assigned correspondence queues, and verifying patient benefits and insurance eligibility. Proactively engaging with payers to request prior authorization for tests is also a vital part of this role. Additionally, you will administer and support patient financial assistance through our NeXT Access program, arrange payment plans, and establish timelines for payments.

Collaboration is key; you will work closely with the Client Experience team, our commercial partners, and the downstream Billing Operations team. You will also support activities related to integrating the billing system with LIMS and other IT systems, contributing to seamless operational workflows.
