Backend/API Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Backend/API Developer (Lead II) to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions on AWS. You will architect microservices, optimize infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
• Architect and deploy cloud solutions using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Optimize database schemas for relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) environments.
• Enforce authentication, authorization, and security best practices including OAuth, JWT, and IAM roles.
• Monitor application health using CloudWatch, X-Ray, Datadog, or New Relic to ensure high availability.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in backend/API development with strong proficiency in Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar.
• AWS Expertise: 4+ hands-on years designing cloud architectures and utilizing core AWS services.
• Databases: Solid experience with both SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Modern Practices: Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes/ECS for containerization and orchestration.
• Culture Fit: Strong problem-solving skills aligned with agile development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with serverless architectures (Lambda, Step Functions) and message queues (Kafka/SNS).
• AWS Certification (Solutions Architect or Developer Associate).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog.
