The Role: Backend Lead Software Engineer (L5)
Based in Bangkok, Thailand (Relocation package provided). This position corresponds to Level IC5 in our engineering framework, following this hierarchy:
IC1 Associate Engineer → IC2 Software Engineer → IC3 Senior Software Engineer → IC4 Staff Software Engineer →IC5 Lead Software Engineer.
In This Role You Will:
- Partner with Engineering Directors to shape technical direction across multiple squads (20–50+ engineers).
- Be hands-on in both coding and architecture, leading from the front.
- Collaborate with Product and Design leadership on strategy and roadmaps.
- Mobilise teams around high-impact problems while ensuring safety and sustainability.
- Lead architectural direction for complex systems across multiple teams.
- Uphold technical excellence, driving improvements in quality, reliability, and scalability.
- Mentor senior engineers to help them operate at a higher level.
We Are Looking For:
If you have 12+ years of total engineering experience, including leading complex distributed systems with strong technical judgment combined with product awareness. You should enjoy working in ambiguous spaces, influencing stakeholders across functions, and mentoring others to raise the bar for excellence.
