Backend Engineer with Python

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Mid Software Engineer based in Pune/Chennai (India) to take end-to-end ownership of scalable backend architectures and web scraping pipelines. You will balance data extraction engineering with robust backend development using Python, PHP, and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities:

• Data Extraction & Web Scraping: Build scalable crawlers for structured/unstructured data, manage dynamic content via browser automation (Selenium/Playwright), and optimize performance through async programming.
• Backend Engineering: Design microservices using Python and PHP, build internal tools with CodeIgniter, and develop RESTful APIs for seamless integration.
• Database Management: Write optimized SQL queries in PostgreSQL, troubleshoot production issues, and manage schema design.
  Mandatory Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience. Must have proficiency in Python (Scrapy, BeautifulSoup), PHP/CodeIgniter, and browser automation tools. Strong foundation in Microservices architecture is required.
• Soft Skills: Ownership to deliver projects independently, strong collaboration with remote/local teams, and agility in fast-paced environments.
