About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer for our remote team working within US time zones (United States). This is a contract-to-hire position designed for professionals who excel in building scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems. As a core member of the engineering team, you will design, develop, and maintain the backend infrastructure powering API-driven marketplace products.
Qualifications
- Over five years of professional experience in backend engineering with a strong emphasis on robust production systems.
- Proficiency in Python and modern API frameworks such as FastAPI or equivalent is essential.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design, backend service architecture, and relational database management (PostgreSQL).
- Experience deploying services within AWS cloud environments using Docker containers and managing CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable REST APIs serving the marketplace platform. You will own features end-to-end from design to deployment. Key tasks include modeling PostgreSQL data layers with efficient schema design, integrating third-party APIs, writing automated tests, and deploying services on AWS leveraging CI/CD pipelines.
