Backend Engineer

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled SDE II (Backend) to engineer high-scale, low-latency systems for our cutting-edge AI voice platform. You will develop real-time backend infrastructure supporting live voice conversations by leveraging WebRTC, SIP-based telephony, and Voice AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain scalable microservices powering real-time AI and voice workflows.
• Contribute to comprehensive system design including APIs, data models, deployment strategies, and monitoring solutions alongside senior engineering teams.
• Develop performant, concurrent, and fault-tolerant code capable of handling large-scale operations.
• Implement robust observability practices using tools such as Datadog and Sentry.
• Collaborate with product and AI teams to advance multi-agent orchestration and automation layers.
• Partner directly with ML teams to integrate proprietary models, support benchmarking efforts, and drive the development of next-generation in-house AI models.

• 2-4 years of backend development experience utilizing Python or Java.
• Demonstrable expertise in system design, concurrency control, and distributed systems architecture.
• Proven track record building scalable APIs or streaming data systems.
• In-depth knowledge of real-time communication protocols including WebRTC, SIP, RTP, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Voice AI or speech processing systems such as ASR/TTS for real-time inference.
• Solid background in integrating LLMs, vector databases, and AI agent frameworks into production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (GCP/AWS) and containerized deployment methods like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong understanding of database technologies including MongoDB, Redis, Postgres, alongside message queues such as Kafka and Pub/Sub.
