Backend Engineer

• Programming Basics:
  - Programming language related questions - Python/Go experience is good to have.
  - Questions around our tech-stack - Kafka/AWS/MySQL/etc.
• Data Structures:
  - Questions related to data structures and algorithms, typically in a time-based interview format to assess critical thinking:
    - Reading/clarifying the problem statement.
    - Considering edge-cases.
    - Dividing the problem into sub-problems with smaller, better testable functions.
    - Variable/function naming conventions.
  
• Time complexity - Should be able to explain time-complexity. While scale may not always require highly optimized code, understanding efficiency is key.
• Space complexity - Ability to explain space-complexity is required.

• Familiarity with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle for designing and implementing normalized schemas.
  - Knowledge of non-relational databases like MongoDB or Cassandra is a plus.
  

• Competence in unit testing, integration testing, and debugging techniques.

About You

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• 1-3 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying small to mid-scale applications.
  Note: Candidates must have at least 2+ years of recent and active software development experience.
• Clear and concise communication skills are essential. You should be able to articulate your thoughts and opinions clearly during interviews and daily work.
