Ptolemy Technology Private Limited is seeking a motivated Backend Engineer with 2 to 3 years of experience to join their team in Navi Mumbai. This is a permanent, full-time position focused on building the backend for a collections and recovery platform.

Role Summary

In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in developing clean Python services, working with MongoDB, and integrating real-world systems. You will collaborate closely with a senior engineer or architect, providing an excellent opportunity for rapid professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend APIs in Python for managing cases, customers, payments, and workflows.
• Design and query MongoDB collections for operational data and event logs.
• Implement background jobs using queue systems for handling retries, callbacks, and status updates.
• Integrate third-party APIs, including payment gateways, SMS, email, and dialers.
• Assist in building simple rule-based workflows and state transitions.
• Contribute to the development of basic AI-driven features such as tagging outcomes, generating summaries, and performing classifications using existing models.
• Implement logging, error handling, and basic monitoring solutions.
• Address bugs, enhance performance, and refactor existing code to improve maintainability and efficiency.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in building at least one end-to-end backend service.

Experience Requirements

• 2 to 3 years of backend development experience.
• Exposure to Fintech or SaaS environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
