Backend Engineer

ShyftLabs is seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer with a minimum of two years of experience in Java/Kotlin to join our team in Noida, India. You will be responsible for developing robust and scalable APIs using GraphQL and REST, managing distributed data with Postgres (Hibernate) and MongoDB, implementing Kafka for efficient event streaming, and ensuring system stability through comprehensive logging and monitoring.

As a Backend Engineer, you will develop and optimize critical backend components, including APIs, databases, and server-side logic. You will implement best practices for performance and scalability, and integrate logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to guarantee system health and enable swift troubleshooting. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps, is essential to deliver seamless solutions. Maintaining high coding standards within the team is a key aspect of this role.

Basic Qualifications:

• Demonstrated strong Java skills with at least 3 years of experience in Java/Kotlin.
• Proficiency in SQL databases like Postgres and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate.
• Experience in developing efficient data querying and APIs using GraphQL/REST.
• Experience with MongoDB for NoSQL database management.
• Experience with Kafka for event-driven architecture and message streaming.
