Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive new features for Zingg open-source and enterprise products built with Java, Apache Spark, Snowpark, ML, LLMs, and more.
• Design classes/modules and write clean, maintainable, robust, scalable code that supports team collaboration and rapid prototyping based on customer feedback.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve Zingg issues efficiently.
• Address user questions and incorporate feedback to enhance the product experience.

Requirements

• 0-3 years of professional software development experience as a Back-end Java Engineer.
• Practical experience writing complex software in Java 8+/Scala.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex product development problems with passion for performance, scalability, and extensibility.
• Strong foundation in data structures, software design, distributed systems, and cloud architecture (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps).
• Linux environment experience; Docker proficiency required.
• Familiarity with Apache Spark and Snowflake APIs preferred.
• Mastery of design patterns, modular architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Strong analytical skills for independent work in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent time management and communication abilities within a team-oriented setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
