Backend Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join the founding India team of an ambitious, VC-backed SaaS company partnering with Flexiple. You will be instrumental in designing and building the core APIs and services that power our product's critical workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• API & Services Development: Design and build robust REST or GraphQL APIs for web and mobile clients; model data efficiently across relational and NoSQL stores;
• Quality Assurance: Write comprehensive integration and unit tests to prevent regressions;
• Performance & Reliability: Profile, optimize slow endpoints, manage background jobs, instrument services with logging/metrics, and participate in on-call rotations for production incident resolution.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

You bring 2 to 6 years of experience building backend services using Java, Python, Go, or Node.js. You possess a strong grasp of relational databases, indexing strategies, query optimization, and API versioning. Clear communication skills in English are essential for remote collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS);
• Experience containerizing applications using Docker and orchestrating them via Kubernetes;
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
