About This Role
A Fortune 200 company is establishing its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India via a partnership with Flexiple. As part of the core services team, you will design and build APIs that power critical product workflows.
Role Overview
In this position as a Backend Engineer, your primary focus is designing, building, and operating robust backend services and APIs. Success in this role demands an unwavering commitment to correctness, high performance, and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- API & Services Development: Design and build REST or GraphQL APIs for web and mobile clients; model data efficiently using relational and NoSQL stores;
- Testing: Write comprehensive integration and unit tests to prevent regressions before deployment;
- Performance & Reliability: Profile and optimize slow endpoints and background jobs; instrument services with logging, metrics, and alerts;
- Oncall Rotation: Participate in on-call duties to resolve production incidents swiftly.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for professionals with 2-6 years of experience building backend services using Java, Python, Go, or Node.js. You should have a strong grasp of relational databases, indexing strategies, and query performance optimization. Experience designing versioned APIs consumed by multiple applications is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or event-driven architectures;
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes;
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
