Backend Engineer

Backend Engineer – Gurgaon | Full Time

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend microservices and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
• Contribute to building high-availability, fault-tolerant systems that support core e-commerce business operations in Gurugram, India.
• Enhance system observability and debuggability through monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing tools such as Grafana, Loki, Pinpoint, Prometheus, and equivalent solutions.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure code reliability and production readiness for our growing platform.
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code aligned with software engineering best practices within a collaborative team environment in Gurgaon.
• Continuously optimize backend applications for performance, scalability, and uptime to meet rigorous business demands.
• Participate actively in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning sessions.
• Monitor live production environments, troubleshoot critical issues, and proactively improve system health for Gurugram-based operations.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to support seamless deployment and CI/CD automation pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–5 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java (versions 8, 11, or 17).
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
• Solid expertise in Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and JPA/Hibernate for building robust enterprise applications.
• Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases; exposure to NoSQL databases is an added advantage for the Gurugram team.
• Strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency models, and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Pinpoint, or equivalent industry-standard solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, along with Microservices Architecture principles.
• Working knowledge of messaging systems including Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ for event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with version control using Git, build tools like Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD workflows tailored to modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent debugging skills, problem-solving abilities, and expertise in performance optimization techniques.
• Strong communication abilities with a collaborative mindset and deep sense of ownership over code quality and system reliability.
