Backend Engineer

Backend Engineer - Bangalore, India (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Flexton Inc. is seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, India. This hybrid role requires 3 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Java-based applications within the data domain.
• Design, build, and manage scalable and reliable data pipelines using Hadoop and associated technologies.
• Implement ETL processes for both batch and real-time data analytics.
• Optimize and troubleshoot distributed systems for data ingestion, storage, and processing.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams to meet business requirements.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance across the data infrastructure.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and participate in architecture reviews.
• Engage in incident response and contribute to operational excellence for the data warehouse.
• Stay current with and apply new Hadoop ecosystem tools and data technologies.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Java + Spring Boot: Experience in building and maintaining microservices.
• Apache Flink: Proficiency in developing and optimizing streaming and batch pipelines.
• Cloud Native: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (deployment, networking, scaling, troubleshooting).
• Messaging & Storage: Expertise with Kafka and NoSQL key-value stores (e.g., Redis, Memcached, MongoDB).
• Python: Skill in scripting, automation, and data utilities.
• Operations & CI/CD: Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana), logging, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions).
• Core Engineering: Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, testing (JUnit/pytest), Git, and clean code principles.
