Backend Engineer E3

BitGo is seeking a talented Backend Engineer E3 to join our dynamic Financing Team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing innovative features and applications for our enterprise clients. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of the foundational team for BitGo's expansion in India, collaborating closely with experienced engineers, product managers, and security experts.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust, resilient, and scalable APIs, libraries, and services to support our financial offerings, including clearing and settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity solutions.
• Take full ownership of features, managing them from conception through deployment and customer integration, ensuring functionality and scalability.
• Develop and document APIs to serve the UI, external developers, and internal/external tooling.
• Engage in close collaboration with all engineering teams, including our U.S.-based global team, to ensure alignment on technical requirements and maintain high work quality, effectively managing time zone differences.
• Mentor fellow engineers by conducting code reviews and sharing best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the broader engineering team.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7-9 years of experience in back-end development, utilizing server-side languages such as Golang, TypeScript/Node.js, Java, or Python.
• Proficiency in algorithm design, complex problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• A strong understanding and genuine interest in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.
• Experience in developing or supporting financial accounting systems, including general ledger and bookkeeping functionalities.
• Extensive experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Proven expertise in RESTful API design.
• Strong capabilities in unit and functional testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git/GitHub, branching strategies, code review tools, CI/CD pipelines, JIRA, and Confluence.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field from a reputable university.
• The ability to work autonomously, be a proactive self-starter, and independently learn, debug, and understand complex systems.
• A proven track record of tackling challenging, ambiguous problems and a dedication to building foundational systems designed for scalability.
• A commitment to technical mentorship, enhancing the skills of peers and contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Prior experience in the financial industry or a strong understanding of digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
