Backend Engineer E2

BitGo is seeking a Backend Engineer E2 to join the Stablecoins team in Bengaluru, India. This role focuses on building and operating the infrastructure for BitGo's Stablecoin-as-a-Service (SCaaS) platform, enabling fintechs and financial institutions to launch compliant, fiat-backed stablecoins under BitGo's regulatory framework.

The Stablecoins team owns the full stack, from smart contract deployment and on-chain operations (minting, burning, cross-chain bridging) to backend services for order management, policy enforcement, and partner integrations. You will work on systems handling significant real-world value across Ethereum, L2 networks, and other chains.

Responsibilities:

• Develop robust APIs, libraries, and services for the SCaaS offering.
• Work on smart contract infrastructure for stablecoin minting, burning, and on-chain operations across multiple blockchain networks.
• Build and maintain backend services integrating with on-chain stablecoin contracts and supporting SCaaS program partners.
• Take ownership of functionality and scalability features from inception to deployment and customer integration.
• Expose and document functionality for UI, third-party developers, and external tooling.
• Enhance internal workflows with tooling to improve service for BitGo's client-facing teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure consistent understanding of technical requirements and work quality.
• Mentor peers through code reviews and best practice education.
• Coordinate with globally distributed teammates.

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of back-end, server-side software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Solid experience in RESTful API design.
• Excellent algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis skills.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, CI tools, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred:

• Understanding and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry.
• Familiarity with stablecoin mechanics, token standards (ERC-20), and on-chain mint/burn operations.
• Experience with smart contract development or integration (Solidity, Hardhat).
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (Kafka).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
