Backend Engineer

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Backend Software Engineer to join our high-impact startup as we scale. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining features for Veza's next-generation Identity Security Platform. Collaborating with product managers, engineers, UX designers, and security experts, you will build robust solutions that meet evolving customer needs while working on cutting-edge technologies in the fast-paced identity space.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs for our SaaS-based Identity Security Platform, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security compliance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement new features including Access Request/Review workflows and identity lifecycle management (user provisioning/de-provisioning).
• Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and auditing capabilities to ensure visibility and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Continuously optimize platform performance through code reviews, testing, refactoring, and leveraging emerging trends in Identity and Access Management (IAM).

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years in backend software development with a focus on IAM, security, or cloud-native environments. Strong proficiency in object-oriented languages like Golang or Java is essential.
• Tech Stack: Experience designing microservices architectures, implementing authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth/OIDC), and working with major cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Additional Skills: Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL databases, caching mechanisms, and distributed systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively are crucial.
