Backend Developer

About this Role:

As a Backend Developer at Valmet (Pune location), you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust server-side applications that power our clients' digital solutions. You will work on both on-premises infrastructure and modern cloud environments.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services.
• Creating secure REST APIs and integration layers to connect diverse platforms.
• Implementing complex business logic, data flows, and core functionalities.
• Managing relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) with a plus for NoSQL experience.
• Ensuring high standards of reliability, security, scalability, and software quality through clean code practices and design patterns.
• Collaborating seamlessly with frontend teams, architects, analysts, and project managers to deliver end-to-end solutions.

What You Bring:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java, .NET, Node.js, Python, or similar frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of REST APIs and web services integration mechanisms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, version control (Git), and containerization technologies like Docker/Kubernetes is a strong plus.
• Understanding of software architecture principles, microservices patterns, and distributed systems.
• Fluency in English for effective communication within our global team.
