Backend Developer

About the Role

Pocketful is seeking a talented Backend Developer with a strong proficiency in Java, Golang, C++, or Python, with a mandatory requirement for Golang expertise. You will play a crucial role in building innovative and potentially disruptive fintech products from their early stages. This is an opportunity to design and develop highly scalable and reliable systems end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with the CTO and Founders, contributing to product strategy.
• Work autonomously as a self-starter, and collaboratively with other engineers on various infrastructure layers for in-house products.
• Develop and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems.
• Integrate and manage systems using Docker & Kubernetes on AWS.
• Apply expert knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Embrace Agile development methodologies, continuous integration, and modern testing practices.
• Develop and work with REST APIs.
• Think creatively to solve complex problems in a dynamic and scaling environment.
• Quickly learn and contribute to evolving technical stacks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in backend development and building scalable products.
• Proficiency in Golang is essential.
• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes and AWS is required.
• Strong understanding of computer science principles.
• Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, and modern testing.
• Experience working with REST APIs.

Bonus Points

• Working knowledge of SQL databases for large-scale products.
• Experience or strong interest in the financial/stock market space.
