Full Job Description
A Backend API Engineer at AHEAD will be instrumental in developing the APIs and platform services that power our agents and user interfaces. The role requires building performant, reliable, and secure endpoints, as well as real-time interfaces for token streaming, traces, and event-driven workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop APIs using FastAPI or Node.js within AWS Lambda or ECS/EKS environments.
- Implement WebSocket capabilities for streaming agent output.
- Manage API routing, rate limits, token streaming, and session management.
- Implement secure Bedrock API calls through VPC endpoints.
- Collaborate with Front-End and Agent Engineers to define schema contracts.
- Integrate with AWS services such as EventBridge, SQS/SNS, and SecretsManager.
Education
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is the minimum requirement.
- AWS Developer certifications are preferred.
Skills Required
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in backend API development.
- Proven experience with production microservice architectures.
- Demonstrated experience with Bedrock API and token streaming.
- Strong understanding of secure API design principles.
- Exceptional skills in performance optimization.
