Back End Engineer

Adani Group is seeking a Backend Engineer for their AI Labs. This role is critical in developing, optimizing, and maintaining backend services, APIs, and databases that power AI-driven applications. The successful candidate will report to the Lead - Backend Engineering and will be instrumental in building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.

Key responsibilities include integrating AI models into production workflows, ensuring seamless data flow and API performance through close collaboration with frontend, DevSecOps, and data science teams. The role involves developing and maintaining scalable backend services, building and optimizing RESTful & GraphQL APIs, and implementing microservices architectures using frameworks like FastAPI or NestJS.

Database management is a core function, encompassing SQL, NoSQL, and Vector databases, with a focus on performance optimization, high availability, and data consistency. The engineer will also be responsible for deploying AI/ML models into backend workflows, optimizing data pipelines for AI applications, and implementing event-driven architectures.

Security, scalability, and performance optimization are paramount, including implementing encryption, authentication, and compliance measures, optimizing for high-throughput AI-driven requests, and developing robust monitoring and logging mechanisms. The role also involves supporting disaster recovery and failover planning.

Cross-functional collaboration is essential, working closely with frontend developers, DevSecOps teams to optimize deployments and CI/CD processes, and product managers. Continuous improvement and staying updated on backend technologies are encouraged.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields is required. Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Developer – Associate, Google Professional Cloud Developer, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), and advanced backend development & API security certifications. The ideal candidate will have 1-10 years of experience in backend development, distributed systems, and API design, with proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or Go, and strong expertise in database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). Experience with containerization, cloud services, and CI/CD pipelines is also crucial.
