We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Data Engineer with a strong background in Microsoft Azure, SQL, and Power BI, specifically focused on financial reporting solutions. This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in building and managing data solutions within the finance domain.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and related services. You will write optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

A key aspect of this role involves developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports for various business units. You will also play a crucial role in mentoring and supervising a junior Power BI developer, ensuring high-quality dashboard delivery and adherence to data visualization standards. Continuous exploration of new technologies to ensure the team utilizes best practices and optimal delivery tools is expected.

The position requires monitoring data quality, integrity, and performance across systems, as well as implementing data governance and security protocols in line with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and related services.
• Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for various business units.
• Supervise and guide a junior Power BI developer, ensuring adherence to best practices and timely delivery.
• Monitor data quality, integrity, and performance across systems.
• Implement data governance and security protocols in line with organizational standards.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position within a complex multi-national organization.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage, etc.).
• Solid experience with SQL Server and writing complex queries.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and dashboard creation.
• Ability to mentor and supervise junior team members effectively.
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, a team player with strong collaboration skills across teams.
• Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills and the ability to explain concepts to lay audiences.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

This is a hands-on role based in Pune, India, requiring extensive involvement and collaboration with colleagues across VTBA and the broader Atlas Copco Group.
