About the Role
We seek a seasoned Azure Engineer – Global API Management (APIM) to architect, implement, secure, and operate enterprise-grade solutions across multiple regions. This position requires hands-on expertise in designing high-availability API platforms with a focus on reliability, performance, and governance.
Your Mission
- Architecture & Deployment: Design and manage Azure APIM solutions including regional deployments, data-plane configuration, and seamless backend integration via Virtual Networks (VNets) and Private Endpoints.
- Security First: Implement robust authentication using Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and managed identities to secure API gateways.
Key Responsibilities
You will develop APIM policies for caching, throttling, rate limiting, and traffic routing while establishing strict versioning and governance standards. You are expected to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep or Terraform within CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions). Additionally, you'll configure comprehensive monitoring with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
- Deep understanding of APIM gateway architecture across multi-region environments.
- Strong proficiency in Azure networking (DNS, routing) and security mechanisms.
- Certifications are a plus.
