AWS Devops Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer with a strong background in cloud infrastructure management, automation using Terraform, container deployments, and a deep understanding of security best practices and Python scripting. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and scaling our AWS environments, supporting seamless deployments, and significantly enhancing our security posture. This is a full-time permanent position offering a remote work opportunity, managed by a Series A funded California-based Software Development Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform modules for efficient and consistent provisioning.
• Deploy and manage services on platforms like ECS (Fargate), Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudFront.
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions utilizing tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Enhance cloud security through the application of IAM best practices, AWS Config rules, Security Hub checks, WAF policies, and SOC2 controls.
• Create Python scripts to automate infrastructure tasks, streamline workflows, and develop operational tools.
• Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines, collaborating closely with development teams to ensure smooth and efficient application deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across containerized applications, networking, and serverless architectures.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 2 to 4+ years of dedicated DevOps experience with strong AWS fundamentals.
• Proven expertise in Terraform, Ansible, ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, VPC, and core networking concepts.
• A solid understanding of cloud security principles and readiness for SOC2 compliance.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation purposes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with EKS, Step Functions, or Secrets Manager.
• Relevant AWS certifications.
