About the Role

As an AWS Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend solutions for a self-service portal integrated with the AWS platform. You will be instrumental in enhancing serverless architectures and REST APIs, ensuring adherence to BMW's high standards for security, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for BMW's Cloud Platform, focusing on robustness, scalability, and efficiency.
• Build and enhance serverless architectures and REST APIs using TypeScript and a variety of AWS services.
• Develop and deploy infrastructure as code using Terraform or CDK for automation on AWS.
• Utilize Git for version control and actively participate in code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles to ensure code reliability and high-quality deliverables.
• Ensure backend systems comply with BMW's security standards, performance metrics, and scalability requirements.
• Proactively identify, debug, and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Work with Docker and containerized environments.
• Participate in agile ceremonies (Scrum).
• Gain exposure to monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development.
• Expert-level proficiency in backend development with TypeScript.
• Strong experience with AWS services.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or CDK for infrastructure-as-code.
• Proficiency in Git for version control.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
• Experience working with agile frameworks and Scrum.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools is a plus.
• AWS Solutions Architecture or related AWS certifications are advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within the CET timezone may be required at times.

Must-Have Technical Skills:

TypeScript, AWS (Lambda, Fargate/ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, KMS, EFS & EBS, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway), Terraform, GitHub, GitHub Runner, GitHub Actions.

Good-to-Have Technical Skills:

Angular Frontend.
