Automation Engineer

About the Role

The Automation Engineer will support a critical Integrated Eligibility System (IES) modernization program. You will analyze existing systems, extract and validate business rules, document requirements, and collaborate with agency stakeholders and vendor teams on planning, design, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive requirements analysis of State legacy systems to support IES implementation, including rule extraction and quality control for output consumability.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify which legacy rules should carry forward versus retire within the project scope.
• Identify and document as-is and to-be system requirements using prescribed methodologies (context diagrams, process flows, use cases, traceability matrices).
• Elicit, analyze, and validate requirements with subject matter experts, users, executive teams, and other stakeholders.
• Produce work products supporting system planning, design, and delivery aligned with business needs.
• Perform peer reviews on internal processes while adhering to project timelines.
