About the Role
Join Qualcomm's Audio Systems Group as an Audio Systems Engineer and be at the forefront of on-device AI and multimedia technology. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing cutting-edge audio solutions for Snapdragon platforms. Your expertise will help architect and optimize these solutions for deployment across mobile, XR, compute, IoT, and automotive markets, driving innovation in next-generation Snapdragon products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive software audio solutions from conception to deployment.
- Create, prototype, and bring to market innovative audio solutions utilizing both traditional signal processing techniques and modern ML frameworks.
- Analyze and validate the performance of audio subsystems, ensuring they meet stringent metrics for robustness, power efficiency, and stability on Qualcomm's platforms.
- Implement, validate, and troubleshoot audio features designed to run seamlessly on the Snapdragon platform.
- Develop, optimize, and deploy audio ML models for various audio applications, with a strong emphasis on achieving inference efficiency across NPUs, GPUs, and CPUs.
- Conduct model evaluation, quantization, and compression to enable fast and robust inference on embedded hardware.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional R&D, systems, and integration teams to verify system use cases and provide commercialization support.
- Perform system-level performance testing and measurements, and lead demo prototyping initiatives.
- Work closely with internal engineering teams and external customers to ensure the successful commercialization of advanced audio technologies.
- Champion diversity and inclusion within Qualcomm and demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic, multi-tasking team environment.
Qualifications We Seek
- A solid foundation in audio processing and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) fundamentals.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and debugging audio solutions on embedded platforms, particularly those based on ARM, DSP, RISC, or HiFi architectures.
- Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ and Python programming.
- Experience with embedded platforms, DSP architectures, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and software design patterns.
- Expertise in both fixed-point and floating-point implementation techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- A quick learner, self-motivated, and capable of working independently within geographically dispersed teams.
Educational Background
- Master's or PhD degree in Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with the Qualcomm Audio framework.
- Experience with Qualcomm SDKs and development tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with 2+ years of Systems Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, combined with 1+ year of Systems Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
