Associate Systems Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Systems Support Engineer to join our IT operations team at Altera Digital Health. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the performance of critical systems to ensure maximum uptime and availability of applications and infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Leverage industry-leading tools such as AppDynamics (AppD), LogicMonitor, and Azure Monitor to monitor application and infrastructure performance.
• Conduct regular health checks and perform advanced tuning on SQL databases for optimal operation speed and reliability.
• Manage the functionality of Windows servers and Internet Information Services (IIS) by applying necessary configurations, updates, and patches as needed.
• Oversight interface subsystems to guarantee seamless data flow and connectivity across all integrated systems.
• Deliver comprehensive first-level support for system incidents. Diagnose issues effectively and escalate complex problems to higher-level engineering teams when required.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation covering system configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident response protocols.
• Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes to identify systemic gaps and prevent future occurrences, thereby improving overall system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement upgrades, patches, and configuration changes while strictly adhering to SLAs and minimizing downtime.
• Safeguard 24/7 uptime of critical mission-critical systems by responding rapidly to alerts and incidents within predefined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Stay abreast of emerging industry trends and best practices to recommend continuous improvements in monitoring processes and tools.
  

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR equivalent relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated 1-3 years of professional experience specifically within systems monitoring and support roles.
• Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools including AppDynamics, LogicMonitor, and Azure Monitor is required.
• Basic proficiency in SQL databases, encompassing both monitoring techniques and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server administration and IIS management principles.
• Proven experience with monitoring server uptime metrics, performance analytics, and alert management workflows.
• Strong technical skills in troubleshooting complex system issues and conducting thorough root cause analysis (RCA).
• Demonstrated strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Fully available to work within a 24x7 operational framework (9 or 12-hour shifts), including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as business needs dictate.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of monitoring tools like AppDynamics and LogicMonitor.
• Familiarity with healthcare application architecture is considered a significant advantage.
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices and frameworks for incident management and continuous improvement.
