Associate Staff Frontend Engineer

Talview is seeking an Associate Staff Frontend Engineer for its Bengaluru, Karnataka office. This role is ideal for an individual who combines strong technical proficiency with strategic product thinking and a passion for creating outstanding user experiences. You will play a crucial role in shaping the frontend architecture of Talview's core platform, enhancing engineering quality, and mentoring fellow engineers. Your responsibilities will include driving improvements in performance, design systems, and technical strategy, tackling complex technical challenges, and delivering high-impact features. Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing frontend features for Talview's platform.
• Lead frontend architectural decisions, including the selection of patterns and frameworks, and define the long-term architectural direction.
• Enhance and evolve the design system, ensuring UI consistency, accessibility, and a delightful user experience.
• Mentor engineers, review critical code changes (PRs), establish best practices, and guide development teams.
• Address and resolve complex technical issues related to performance, state management, and cross-service integrations.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and SRE teams to ensure seamless end-to-end product delivery.
• Improve overall product quality by identifying UI/UX gaps, optimizing rendering performance, and ensuring maintainable, future-proof code.
• Drive engineering excellence through improvements in testing, observability, CI/CD pipelines, workflows, and frontend tooling.
• Participate in on-call rotations, manage incidents, and resolve critical production issues to support system reliability.
• Influence the vision and strategy for long-term frontend evolution and platform roadmap development.

Qualifications

Required:

• Over 5 years of professional experience in building modern frontend applications.
• In-depth expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks like React or similar.
• Solid understanding of web performance optimization, security best practices, testing methodologies, and web accessibility standards.
• Proven experience in delivering complex features within large-scale codebases.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and improve engineering processes.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with design systems, component libraries, or micro-frontend architectures.
• Strong capabilities in architectural thinking and system design.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, or performance tuning.
• Prior experience in technical leadership, mentorship, or cross-team ownership.
• Contributions to open-source projects or engagement with engineering communities.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, or Codex.
• Experience working in product-centric organizations with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.
