As an Associate Software Localization Engineer at Welocalize, you will play a vital role in supporting our software localization and globalization initiatives. This position involves assisting in the implementation, execution, and ongoing maintenance of localization workflows, tools, and infrastructure to ensure the successful delivery of localized software products.
Core Responsibilities
Program Support
- Assist in the implementation of localization workflows and the management of production tools.
- Perform foundational troubleshooting and debugging of localization tools, files, and processes under guidance.
- Maintain and update Translation Memories (TM) and glossaries to ensure linguistic consistency.
- Provide essential technical support to translation and production teams concerning tools and file formats.
Program Implementation
- Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of localization kits, ensuring content is optimally formatted for translation.
- Execute file preparation, conversion, and quality assurance checks utilizing established localization tools.
- Carry out defined localization production steps as directed by senior team members.
Quality Assurance and Troubleshooting
- Conduct linguistic and functional quality assurance checks on localized software content.
- Identify and resolve basic technical issues that arise within the localization processes.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to escalate and address more complex technical challenges.
Collaboration and Learning
- Work in close partnership with the production team, senior engineers, and Project Managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Actively participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and deepen your understanding of new tools and processes.
Qualifications
Education
A degree, diploma, or equivalent in a computer-related discipline, combined with relevant experience in language or software localization, is required.
Skills and Knowledge
- Possess 1-2 years of experience in software localization or a closely related field.
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of localization tools such as Trados, Passolo, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with scripting languages including VBA, XML, or HTML is beneficial.
- Exhibit strong organizational and effective communication skills.
- Be adept at working within a multicultural and collaborative team environment.

- Display flexibility and a strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
This is a fully work-from-office position based at our Gurugram office. Availability to work in the office from Monday to Friday is essential.
