Associate Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking Associate Software Engineers (Backend) who possess strong computer science fundamentals to build backend services and APIs critical for doctors, nurses, and patients. This role is ideal for engineers eager to learn rapidly in a small, high-calibre team.

• Build seamless patient journey services including doctor finding, booking, diagnostics, payments, and discharge management across OPD, IPD, emergency, and day care settings.
• Create products that empower clinicians managing heavy workloads.
• Develop platform-first foundational services such as unified payment systems, scheduling, subscriptions, and a centralized patient record system used network-wide.
• Design voice-first and AI-first experiences where users interact via speech or simple taps instead of forms.
• Contribute to building a Hospital Information System from scratch, including the core clinical platform and EMR that runs every hospital workflow.
• Develop intelligence services focused on interoperability with national standards like ABDM and FHIR using AI-powered tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and ship backend services in Java (Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI).
• Maintain clean, well-tested code; actively participate in code reviews to give and receive feedback.
• Analyze system components including relational databases like PostgreSQL, caches such as Redis, and message queues like Kafka.
• Optimize data modeling and write efficient database queries.
• Debug production issues and contribute to monitoring reliability tools.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers on clinical workflows, occasionally visiting hospital sites.
• Utilize AI coding assistants for development tasks while maintaining ownership of the final code quality.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must haves: 1–3 years of software development experience at a product company or startup; strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and databases; proficiency in Java or Python; hands-on use of AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor; clear understanding of project design decisions.

Educational Requirements

• B.Tech / B.E. from a top-tier institution (IITs, IIITs, NITs, BITS) in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
