Associate Software Engineer

Calix is seeking a talented Associate Software Engineer specializing in Android development to join our dynamic Products organization in Bengaluru, India. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance software solutions that power the telecommunications industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain robust Android applications utilizing Kotlin and Jetpack Libraries.
• Implement intuitive user interfaces with Jetpack Compose.
• Seamlessly integrate REST APIs and effectively manage JSON data.
• Actively participate in debugging, testing, and optimizing application performance.
• Adhere to established coding standards and best practices for high-quality software.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in Android development.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with experience using Android Studio.
• Solid understanding of Jetpack Compose and the Android application lifecycle.
• Familiarity with common Android architectural patterns.
• Basic knowledge of RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Git for version control.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the MVVM architectural pattern.
• Basic understanding of local data storage solutions (e.g., SharedPreferences, Keychain).

Location:

Bengaluru / Bangalore, India. This is a permanent position with a flexible hybrid work model, requiring 20 days of work from the Bangalore office per quarter.
