Sutherland is looking for a Network Security Engineer to join our team in Mumbai, MH, India. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions for our in-house and client-facing critical missions. You will work with a dedicated team of diverse professionals on cutting-edge solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Network Security Engineer, you will require a fundamental understanding of switching, routing, and the TCP/IP stack. Your responsibilities will include analyzing, monitoring, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading network devices, firewall appliances, and other security-related hardware. You will assist in designing and implementing large-scale network security solutions across data centers, campuses, wide-area networks, Wi-Fi, and cloud environments. Integrating automation and orchestration to reduce repetitive workloads and improve project efficiency is key. You will collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and develop innovative solutions, explore novel approaches to system integration, and create repeatable processes, detailed documentation, and artifacts for enterprise technology development and evolution. You will also provide architectural expertise, respond to alerts and customer-reported issues within service level agreements, and work with cross-functional teams (network, cloud, software, compute) to develop technical activities for customer trials and deployments.

Job Description Specifics

• Strong hands-on L2 experience with network hardware such as Cisco switches, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco ASA.
• Practical knowledge of network concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPN, network protocols, port configuration, link aggregation, spanning tree optimization, and performance tuning.
• Extensive knowledge and support of routing protocols/technologies like BGP, OSPF, MPLS VPN, and Multicast.
• Understanding and ability to explain security fundamentals such as NAT, ACL, Access Groups, IPsec, and AAA, with working knowledge and troubleshooting skills for network protocols.
• Assist in establishing the networking environment by contributing to the design, configuration, and implementation of new networks.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new solutions and improving the resilience of the current environment.
• Troubleshoot network problems and outages, schedule upgrades, and collaborate with network architects and engineers on network optimization.
• Install, configure, manage, and fix Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco ASA/Firepower Firewalls.
• Maintain and manage border security systems, including intrusion detection systems and firewalls.
• Support, monitor, and manage existing configuration changes for Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco ASA/Firepower Firewalls.
• Configure and deploy security operating platforms, maintaining them in line with Sutherland's policies on change management, automation, and revision control.
• Assist in resolving client network security issues, recommending best industry practices, and creating configuration and installation documents.
• Install and maintain Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco ASA/Firepower firewall technologies.
• Demonstrate expertise in TCP/IP and experience with internet technologies.
• Schedule and conduct hardware and software enhancements, upgrades, reconfigurations, and patches, coordinating with engineering and business units to deploy server systems that meet organizational/client objectives.
• Oversee and test network capacity and performance, providing statistics and reports. Plan and deploy network upgrades, maintenance fixes, and patches.
• Implement security measures to address data loss susceptibilities, minimize risk, suggest system components and security changes, conduct security audits and assessments, detect security breaches, and provide IT security recommendations to management.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and efficient operation of network systems supporting enterprise technology functions by monitoring, supporting, and maximizing the network infrastructure.
• Interact regularly with team members, clients, and engineering teams, comprehending client ecosystems, needs, and security roadmaps to deploy relevant security solutions.
• Perform all tasks in accordance with organizational/client policies, procedures, and best practices.
