The Amgen India Digital Technology Innovation (DTI) Sr. Associate IS Data Engineer is part of a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Medical Data Analytics and Insights Product Team. This role focuses on delivering analytics capabilities across the Global Medical business organization. The selected individual will collaborate with business users, architects, validation engineers, platform teams, product owners, and development team members to develop and deliver analytics needs and enhancements.

Expertise is required in data integration solution delivery using platforms such as Databricks, Tableau, CI/CD, GitLab, and AWS Services. Collaboration with various global teams is essential for seamless integration and operational excellence. The ideal candidate possesses a strong data integration background in the end-to-end software development lifecycle and is a Scaled Agile practitioner. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational strategic initiatives, foster a collaborative environment, and achieve high-quality results within a matrixed organizational structure.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Function as a Digital Technology Data and Analytics Data Engineer within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) product team.
• As a member of the Global Medical Data and Analytics Product team, ensure progress towards business needs in a cost-effective, compliant, and reliable manner.
• Utilize data, AI, and metrics to understand user behavior and product usage trends to influence strategy.
• Integrate data and develop integration queries and ETL pipelines within the Databricks datalake environment.
• Lead data analysis and insights user stories, utilizing existing CI/CD delivery pipelines and processes, with a focus on automating and streamlining current processes.
• Communicate software and system designs using modeling tools such as Miro or Lucid Chart.
• Develop test classes and automation to validate business logic and prevent production issues.
• Work closely with other developers in the PRODUCT SCRUM team, including business analysts, software engineers, validation analysts, and the Product Owner.
• Research AI/LLM-based solutions and drive Proof of Concepts to meet business requirements. Stay updated on the latest trends in DevOps methodologies and emerging industry solutions.
• Participate in and develop business-prioritized Data and Analytics metrics and user stories using the Databricks environment.
• Demonstrate familiarity with AWS Services and other cloud technologies.
• Develop technical design and business documentation for end users.
• Cultivate a deep understanding of the product and the customer experience.
• Engage with customers at pivotal points in their journey to gather insights on what they value most.
• Debug and resolve inbound customer challenges quickly and to their satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications

Masters degree with 1 year of Information Systems experience, or Bachelors degree with 2-4 years of Information Systems experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in developing, implementing, and supporting Data and Analytics Data Lake systems, analytics/reporting, and metrics/visualization tools.
• Experience using the Databricks platform for developing integration pipelines, SFDC APIs, REST-based web services, SQL, XML, and JavaScript.
• Extensive hands-on technical and engineering experience building REACT-based UI solutions.
• Experience working in BI environments like Tableau or Power-BI.
• Experience developing in an enterprise environment with numerous applications and development teams within an AGILE framework.
• Understanding of AWS services, Security frameworks, and AI/LLM base models.

• Knowledgeable in analytics and design principles.
• SAFe Agile experienced.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet.
• Experience managing onshore/offshore development teams.
• Quick learner of existing and new AI/ML technologies and infrastructure.
• Experience operating in a regulated business environment and adhering to mandatory compliance requirements is preferred.
• Pharmaceutical experience is preferred.
