Associate Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Engineer, Site Reliability to join our dynamic team. This role involves ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of our applications and websites. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing tools to enhance our large-scale UNIX environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform swift and effective application and website troubleshooting to resolve issues according to documented procedures.
• Collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Development teams.
• Coordinate, communicate, and manage notifications and updates regarding issues that impact site availability and performance to customers and executive management.
• Develop tools to improve the rapid deployment and effective monitoring of custom applications in a large-scale UNIX environment.
• Identify and automate repetitive tasks and processes to reduce issue resolution time.
• Function as an effective team player, working closely with peers and other operations or engineering teams.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in an interrupt-driven, real-time environment.

Required Skillset

• Experience in programming with shell scripting or any Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) language such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Java/Scala, or C/C++.
• Experience with incident management and escalation processes.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux systems administration and/or DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with network concepts, IPv4/6, TCP/IP stack, and common Internet protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, FTP, etc.
