Join Lululemon's India Tech Hub as an Associate Engineer II in the Design & Development space within the Global Product Technology team. This role is crucial for aligning strategic intent with in-store execution and global merchandising strategies, supporting pre-season/in-season technology solutions, and enhancing the guest experience. We are looking for individuals who drive project success, proactively identify high-value deliverables, and ship quality software solutions. You will partner closely with business partners, project leads, and technical teams to deliver project scope and meet stakeholder expectations, demonstrating leadership by fostering team growth and development.

Our work focuses on innovation in planning functions, critical for understanding our guests, market, and demand to drive product placement decisions. We ensure end-to-end execution of merchandising strategies, connecting the right product with the right sizes and contributing directly to the success of store planners, visual merchandising, and retail teams.

Who You Are:

You are a developer of high-performing, well-tested, and thoughtfully architected software applications that meet internal business needs and power guest experiences. You have proven experience applying scientific, mathematical, and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems, and solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences.

A Day in the Life:

  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers to support and drive solution implementations.
  • Utilize programming languages and paradigms to create, test, and operate sustainable client-side or server-side software applications and services.
  • Build and extend applications in cloud, hybrid cloud, and/or on-premise environments.
  • Ensure applications are designed for high availability, observability, and durability using software engineering best practices.
  • Provide L3 support for troubleshooting and resolving production issues, and prepare systems for peak performance scaling.
  • Work with business and systems analysts to understand end-user requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with onsite and remote frontend, backend, and operations engineers to ensure deliverables are well-documented, secure, and resilient.
  • Apply DevOps practices to integrate development and IT operations processes, people, and tools, increasing speed, efficiency, and quality.
  • Design for release configuration management.
  • Engage with globally distributed engineering teams on integration projects.
  • Participate in ongoing quality and performance improvement initiatives for reliability and security.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Data Integration, Data Engineering, or Backend Development.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Core Technical Skills (Must Have):

Data Integration & APIs:

  • Strong programming experience in Java (Java 8 or later).
  • Experience with Spring Boot and RESTful API development.
  • Experience building data integration services and event-driven pipelines.
  • Experience with Kafka or similar messaging frameworks.

Data & Database Technologies:

  • Experience with SQL-based databases such as PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, or other relational databases.
  • Understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data governance concepts.

Cloud & Integration Services:

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, IAM.
  • Experience with data orchestration and integration tools such as Apache Airflow or AWS Glue.

Software Development & DevOps:

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals including design, coding, testing, and version control.
  • Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting development, infrastructure, and operational environments.

Good to Have Skills:

Master Data Management:

  • Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) platforms.
  • Understanding of golden record creation, survivorship rules, and data stewardship processes.

Data Platform Ecosystem:

  • Experience with Snowflake or modern cloud data warehouses.
  • Basic programming knowledge in Python for data processing.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Exposure to Retail or Omni-channel commerce data domains.

Integration & Testing:

  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Exposure to high-volume transactional systems.

Tools & Platforms Familiarity:

  • GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Slack, SharePoint, Smartsheet, IDE tools (Eclipse, IntelliJ).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
