Join the expanding global Operations footprint of SAP's ABAP Infrastructure Platforms team in Bangalore. As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with experienced engineers across India, the USA, and Germany to ensure the stability, performance, and operational excellence of SAP's ABAP Cloud systems. This role offers hands-on experience with enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices.
What You'll Build
You will be instrumental in supporting the daily operations of ABAP Cloud systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring ABAP Cloud systems for availability, performance, and health using standard tools.
- Executing incident management procedures according to established runbooks and escalation guidelines.
- Assisting senior engineers in incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
- Participating in scheduled system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Supporting tenant provisioning, deprovisioning, and basic recovery tasks.
- Maintaining high-quality operational documentation that adheres to standards.
- Contributing to automation by maintaining and improving existing scripts and tools.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams for deployments and ensuring operational readiness.
- Participating in shift rotations, including US shifts, to support 24x7 global operations.
What You'll Bring
- 2-4 years of experience in operations, DevOps, cloud support, or a related technical field.
- Solid understanding of system monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management.
- Exposure to scripting and automation tools such as Python, Shell, and Jenkins.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and containerization concepts.
- A strong desire to learn SAP BTP ABAP Environment, cloud operations, and DevOps methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams.
- A continuous learning mindset and commitment to structured processes.
