Full Job Description
Aequor Technologies seeks an exceptional Associate Data Scientist for our Pune, India location. This role is pivotal in understanding data, extracting actionable insights, and developing robust machine learning or statistical models. You will manage the entire modeling lifecycle, from initial exploratory analysis and feature engineering to the creation of reproducible pipelines deployable to our customers' production environments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to translate complex business challenges into well-defined analytical and modeling problems.
- Conduct in-depth exploratory data analysis (EDA) on intricate, noisy, and sometimes incomplete datasets. This includes validating data quality, identifying patterns, and formulating hypotheses.
- Design and implement effective features, select appropriate modeling techniques (e.g., regression, tree-based models, time series analysis, clustering), and benchmark various approaches.
- Develop clean, well-structured Python code and notebooks for interactive analysis, experimentation, and clear communication of results.
- Build comprehensive, end-to-end data and modeling pipelines, encompassing data extraction, preprocessing, feature generation, model training, evaluation, and inference. These pipelines should be modular, testable, and reproducible.
- Work closely with engineering teams to deploy models onto the Aera platform, managing aspects such as packaging, versioning, monitoring, and validation.
- Articulate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through visualizations, written reports, and live presentations.
About You
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Have 1-3 years of experience in data science, data analysis, or ML engineering, or equivalent strong project/internship experience.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, utilizing libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and common scientific/ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn). Familiarity with TensorFlow/PyTorch is a plus.
- Exhibit solid experience with EDA and statistical analysis, with a comfort level working iteratively in notebooks to explore data and build intuition.
- Possess good working knowledge of SQL for data manipulation, including joining, aggregating, and transforming data from multiple sources.
- Have experience structuring code into reusable components and applying fundamental software engineering practices, including version control, testing, and documentation.
- Show strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a preference for clear, data-backed decision-making.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to production ML/analytics systems, including scheduling, APIs, CI/CD, and monitoring.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and distributed data frameworks like Spark.
- Domain expertise in supply chain, logistics, or operations.
