Associate Data Engineer

Amgen is seeking a skilled Data Engineer in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India, to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and optimizing our data infrastructure, focusing on creating robust data pipelines for our AWS-based data lake and data warehouse. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that enable data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics and predictive modeling. Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing data pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes on AWS and Databricks, managing these environments, and ensuring data integrity and system performance. You will translate business requirements into technical solutions and explore new technologies to enhance ETL performance. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and Airflow, with experience in data modeling, cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure), and software engineering best practices. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 2-6 years of experience are required. Preferred qualifications include AWS Certified Data Engineer or Databricks certifications. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role, as is the ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams.
